What is the cleanest city in your country?

In East Africa and Tanzania in particular the cleanest city is Kilimanjaro - Moshi township named after the famous Mountain Kilimanjaro 5895 meters above sea level. The city boasts a lot of green and well maintained gardens, lot of trees and the policy in this city is “NO LITTERING”

There has been nearly 100% compliance from the city dwellers and the municipal is kept cleanest of all cities in East Africa.

Initiatives from people living in Moshi municipality include planting of trees, curbing soil erosion, proper disposal of wastes, protecting all kind of pollution to water sources and watchful eye stopping loss of water in that every drop counts.

In this municipality and the region in particular is the only place in Africa where tap water is considered safe to drink.

Hi @Giigle ,

This is a great post, however, your photo doesn’t appear to be your own and it should be removed. Do you perhaps have photos to share from the city itself? It would be really amazing to see how the city is kept clean, what initiatives do you do and how people are involved?

Posts like these are great and they showcase an important cause, therefore it’s important to include original photos and text. Thank you!

@DanniS it is very true to emulate the cause that we make the topic as authentic as possible so the contributors can also share photos if possible. Will update the topic as soon as I have photos BUT in meantime we can enjoy the reading!

I think Sydney is doing it’s best to keep the city clean and livable. We have a National Clean Up Day every year in March which I also attend with friends. We have slowly introduced no single use plastic bags in supermarkets. It’s a slow process but I believe people are embracing the challenges for the survival of the planet and people living in it.
