What is an "open bar" - "öppen bar" in Swedish?

Often Google maps asks me the question "Is this an open bar?" (If I translate from Swedish to English, I don’t know what the question would be in English Google Maps).

What is an Open Bar in Google’s perspective?

In Swedish Open Bar or “Öppen bar” is a bar where everything is free och charge for the customer, or included in the price. Such as when having a wedding reception there can be an open bar for the guests to get a drink and the bill is paid by the bridal couple, or at some buffe´s where drinks are included in the price of the meal (VERY RARE).

This is not something that is useful information for the average restaurant in Sweden, as open bars are very rare.

So what is the exact term in English? I suspect this has been translated wrong. Google would probably just want to know if there is a separate bar you can sit in rather than having to book a table and get a meal along with the drink.

Hi @Henke_s ,

I’ve noticed that your post has a Swedish language label, so I removed it, as it’s written in English. If you want to know more about the language labels I recommend you to read the article: How do I find posts in my preferred language?
