What I Love To Share The Most on Google Maps

Proud Houstonian here

As a native Houstonian, I am surprised by this city constantly. It is a fast-growing, diverse community of people who love to explore, be outdoors, meet others, and live life. I have lived here my whole life and I discover new experiences all the time.

But surprisingly, the things I love sharing the most on Google Maps are my favorite go-to’s for my family. The coffee shop I grew up eating Sunday breakfast in, is now my kid’s favorite place to eat. Or the mechanic that my grandfather took his cars to, and where my mother took her vehicles, is now where my husband and I take ours for maintenance. A personal reference that speaks to the integrity and character of the owners and employees, in my opinion, goes a LONG way when recommending and reviewing a place on Google Maps.

If I was visiting a new city and my car broke down, I would much rather visit the mom-and-pop mechanic who shows to have trustworthy customer service and know that I could walk across the street and enjoy a cup of coffee and some comfort food. All based off of a personal recommendation.

So I enjoy being a local guide. Not a reviewer, not a secret shopper, a GUIDE.

I also love sharing the non-touristy, off the beaten path type of places that wow me on my first visit.

Hidden gems are in my city and it’s my mission to discover as many as possible!

@theamyquinn , well said! I have said for a while that Google reviews are where I hold the most trust. I love honest reviews. Reviews that give you the inside info and speak to what sets a place apart. Reviews that highlight the local experience and how you were treated there. Not just reviews that are trying to be spiteful or mean. I love your attitude toward the program. Keep up the good work!
