I love to share about cafes suitable for work and study. For me, working at cafes brings me great joy, and - very importantly - better concentration. Not all cafes, however, are created equal and not all cafes are suitable for focus. And that’s where I come in. When it comes to food and beverage establishments, I like to share my holistic experience that includes cleanliness, hospitality, value for the food, and of course quality of food itself. I take this mindset to review cafes, but a cafe for working and studying has additional considerations that make it a work and study cafes: ambient noise, the cafe’s choice of music (e.g. EDM is not everyone’s cup of tea for study), lighting, electrical outlets, wifi speed and stability, working surface area, texture of working surface area (an artisan wooden table may be nice but too rough for a mouse to operate on or even for the laptop to lay flat), popularity (a happening place is great for conversation but not suitable for focus), among other considerations (I’ve learned that working at a cat cafe is an exercise on not get carried away by the curious cats). Through my reviews, I hope that locals, travelers, people like me, and anyone who enjoys working and studying at cafes can find my insights of value for them!
