What I love the most about sharing on Google Maps.

Coming from Dublin Ireland, I’ve been fortunate enough to have the experience of going out to eat with friends and family. I didn’t actually realise it until I left to travel Europe, but going out to eat is one of my favorite things to do.

I constantly look for places to eat, what people say about the restaurant, and most of all, the value for what you get. When traveling, I found myself constantly looking for places to eat, and even though I found them, being able to share what I liked about somewhere became really important to me.

I’m a foodie, and I love to cook my own food, but what I also love just going somewhere that’s fantastic, breaking down the dish, and figuring out how I can actually make this myself.

So I’ve done it, with a Google maps recommendation for myself, I ended up at “egg break” in London, and ate one of the best egg dishes I had and went home, looked at the menu of the restaurant and tried to re-create it.

I ended up with this dish of a poached egg, on a goats cheese log, kale bed and topped with pomegranate seeds (picture at the end). It wasn’t as good (I’m just finding an excuse to go back) but it was still an incredible experience, and I wouldn’t have done it without Google maps recommending the restaurant.

What I love about sharing on Google maps, is that I get such a kick out of being a part of a community that is so vital to where I go for my food, especially everyday when I’ve been traveling for over a month and I hope that maybe, my review somewhere was inspiration for someone to go somewhere, they liked the food and just like me, they wanted to make the dish themselves.
