We live in a globalized world, with instant communication and real time updates. We can know what is happening at this precise moment on the other side of the planet. We can tell if a person is taking an ice cream in NY or if they are warming up to exercise somewhere in New Zealand. With the online tools we have at our disposal, we have not only the ability but the duty to help our community, as Uncle Ben would say: “with great power comes great responsibility” and it is precisely how I feel sharing my experiences of the places I visit. I love taking pictures of the facilities, the services and products offered there and making constructive criticism to help the community make a good decision when going to eat, stay, buy an item or any other day-to-day activity. I have to be honest, I used to hate Google Maps notifications that asked me for a rating or a feedback or upload photos, but little by little I have been loving the app, even, now I feel the need to help others in order to clarify their doubts about a certain place. I think I have found, without looking for it, one of my favorite hobbies, which, serve as a guide to other people. Let’s keep sharing experiences, join the elite forces of Local Guides for the sheer pleasure of serving the community.
