When I started rating places on Google Map I certainly didn’t have an aim. As a person who loves geography (I’m a geo-freak) I loved pinning in the map the places I’ve visited and commenting about them. Then, in a while I could go over and over seeing the routes I’ve followed. And honestly, I found it really amusing. With time, I started a travel blog (elviajedelmapache.com) and I noticed that, commenting the places I had visited, my job when writing a post on the blog helped me later with this task as I had it in there pretty detailed.
When my blog became more known, many people started asking me about recommendations in my own city, Granada, one of the most visited in Spain. Also, working in the Tourism industry made me a person to be asked. Google Maps proved to be a powerful tool for me to share the places I loved and all the recommendations I had. I created a Map and when readers or friends ask me what can I tell them to do, I just send them the link of my “Map of Granada”.
My posts on my blog are also richer and look more professional with the inserted maps in them. Here you have an example: https://elviajedelmapache.com/2019/04/11/que-ver-y-que-hacer-en-bucarest-rumania-en-2-dias/
See you in California!!
