What I love the most about sharing on Google Maps and why?

I first got to travel outside of my country in 2014 to India. I loved how using Google Maps my cousin showed us the different cities near his hometown. I still didn’t own a smartphone then but I was about to own one soon. I got my Nokia XL after coming back from that trip. I just kept wondering how useful Maps was to me during that trip. I realized the importance of Maps when I went to Dhaka for my first National Debate tournament. It helped me navigate the streets of the cities all alone. Now, I am always at ease doing it but back then I was an amateur. I understood the fact all the strangers on Maps were these local guides guiding us without any self-interest. I wanted to do the same thing for my hometown. I wanted people to visit my hometown without the fear of getting lost or missing out on visiting famous spots because of the lack of proper guidance. So, I try to do it in the best way I can. Not only in my hometown but even in Vellore where I’m studying right now. I just love exploring on my own and Maps enables that by the help of information provided by the local guides. This is what I love the most about local guides. It gives everyone the opportunity to explore on their own without the fear of travelling alone.
