Google Maps & the suite of Google Products strives with a common motive, to help information be shared and available. What do I, as an individual love to share on Google Maps? I love to share my knowledge, experiences with other people, so as to help them take informed decisions. My favorite section on Google Maps under the Contribute section is the “Can You Answer This…” prompt after I visit a place for the first time or periodically. The questions are closed ended with a preset of three options. Some questions are repetitive viz., “Is there a wheel chair accessible entrance”, “Is this place visible from the road”, and “Does this place offer raised chairs” The best part about these questions are, the responses gather information that care for the society and community. It helps a family with a wheel chair ridden member to look at options for a silent outing. It also helps boost the businesses to have more visitors based on the information that are shared by individuals after verifying during their recent visits. Information that help fellow people in the community to take informed decisions and precautions is the best feature on Google maps, where I take pride in contributing to the larger motive of Google.
