“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page’’ - St. Augustine
As an avid traveler myself, and someone who loves to visit & explore new places, whose places of interest typically include : Historic, Archaeological, Outdoor sports, Cultural and Nature parks (in particular with a lot of fauna). I like to read and also write/post photos about my experience on travel to most places, that would include everything from the logistics, to preparation, the expected costs, modes of travel, food, cultural peculiarities & sensitivities, and of course, the overall experience both the positives and the negatives.
In a sense**, its more a Travelogue in bits and pieces**, with the review of each place and experience captured in the review comments or as pictures and in some instances as videos when the situation/place commands a more holistic perspective in which case a video makes sense (for example, events and experiences are best captured in videos, so are 360 views of monuments/sights of interest).
This serves 2 purposes,
-
To help others who might be planning to visit these places plan for their trip
-
To help weave a complete picture for a future blog/travelogue
I believe the future of education, information sharing, mass communication (enabled by devices with high speed data speed capabilities, together and ARVR) would be enabled by content that is crowd sourced from different people who provide their inputs/perspective on things, places and events. Google maps with its comments/photos as content, enables such a future platform.
On a more personal note, there are many of us who may not be able to see some places/events for different reasons from affordability to other reasons. For those, a few glimpses of these places & events. My Friend’ daughters could not visit the Equiland event in Munich and they loved the videos and photos were posted via Google maps.
So keep travelling & posting my fellow Travelers, the World is too big to see in a Lifetime …
