Hi,
I’m Suzy Nam and I live in Bangkok, Thailand. I love sharing information for families and information about the environmental and/or social impact on Google Maps.
My family travels, a lot. My husband’s and my work both require us to travel, and since we live in Asia but have family in the US, we are all over! This past year, we were in 8 different countries. So I know what it’s like to show up in a totally new place and have to find a grocery store, a playground, restaurants appropriate for children, great accommodations that are well located but not to expensive, museums my children will love, etc. I rely on Google Maps for so much, and I love being able to share information that other families find useful, too.
I used to write travel books, but these days Google Maps is my primary outlet to share helpful information. My children just started chronicling our travel adventures: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCisjSjRAiK58QMjnN0gtqaA?view_as=subscriber. They love the idea that their friends and family can watch them on YouTube, and I love that someone might find something in there useful!
It’s also really important to me to share whatever I can about social and/or environmental impacts. If I come across a restaurant that doesn’t have single use plastics or is reducing food waste, I make that clear in my reviews. If there’s a great coffee shop that also happens to be a social enterprise, I call that out. Those things really matter to me, and I’ll always choose a business that is socially or environmentally sustainable over one that isn’t, so I want to give that information to others in case they feel the same.
Here’s my Connect Live Video! Looking forward to seeing everyone else’s. https://youtu.be/tdgAfQ0IOPw
