Google maps is a great way to find out about a place if you have never visited it before. Reviews and pictures are very important for the community.
What I love contributing to google maps is mainly the pictures. My love for travelling and visiting new places means that I get to take pictures of beautiful places along the way, whether it be famously known landmarks or the little unknown corners that no one knows about, even to the local places such as restaurant, hotels and shops. I love adding pictures of places to show people what a place is truly like. Descriptions and reviews are great too, but pictures really have the ability to show an atmosphere and vibe and tells a story more than words can describe.
I personally sometimes rely on images from maps to determine whether I go there or not. I believe maps plays an important role on whether or not a person will visit a place. I hope that by my pictures, I inspire and encourage people to visit places and give them a true image of what to really expect.
