Sri Lanka is a beautiful island with a diverse eco system of culture, economics and uncommon localities. We have over 12million people using mobile phones in Sri Lanka. I bet at least half of them are depending on Google Maps to get here and there. On top of that we have a large community of Tourists visiting all around the year. I’m sure 100% of the travellers use Google Maps, that’s like the best and easiest way to figure your ways around Sri Lanka.
So what I love to do is rate, review and add pictures of places I visit. I believe the more reviews and posts of common people like me, the more accurate the understanding and idea of the place you visit maybe. For example, Right now I’m at a place called Bolgoda Lake Villa. If you google it, you can see two places in the map. Because Sri Lankan naming of roads, cities, small towns are so localised they sometimes confuse you when referring to the maps. Also not every post on a restaurant that the restaurant owner posts is accurate, nor it will be upto date. It is the latest reviews by visitors that matters.
I hope soon; our reviews will help even more Google Map users to pick & choose what they wanna eat, good combinations of food to order, tell which narrow road you should not drive through (though the map may show a road), hidden locations that you should visit to explore its beauty and also take the message out to all how I see a place, from my point of view.
