What I love sharing most on Google Maps

Whenever I travel I have my Ricoh Theta S with me. I love to take 360° photos and publish them via the Street View app. It’s pretty interesting how people react to 360° photography. I have learned that panoramic pictures really attract the people’s attention. Overall there has been more than 16.000.000 views of my 360° photos. Amazing.

These are some of the places where I have added 360° photos to Maps:

Moscow’s VDNKh, Louvre in Paris, Kemah Boardwalk Marina in Texas, Dubai Marina, Vincon Landmark 81 in Ho-Chi-Minh-City, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Long Beach on Cambodia’s Koh Rong, The Washington Monument.

A great side effect is this: Whenever I take 360° pictures people are curious about my camera and what I am doing. That’s always a great opportunity to start a talk with locals about their hometown.

Still the 360 photography did not hit me, I love the easy way of smartphone pictures, but your post shows me that maybe in the near future I should try it @Volker_Matthies .

Thank you for sharing the beautiful pictures.

Yes, give it a try. I am sure that 360° will find its place, it’s just a matter of time.
