It’s not actually a question about what as much as a question about why in my case.
I feel that reviews get outdated as time goes on, everything out there is subject to change and being up to date with the latest when deciding to pick a place to stay while on vacation, deciding where to go out to eat or just navigating around, it always comes in handy to look at some reviews or use the map no matter what the case may be.
To also clarify the why part in more detail, I really do enjoy leaving reviews for places that I visit, regardless of the fact that they’re good or bad. If they’re good someone else might consider heading over to that place and giving it a try, if they’re bad, well I’ve suffered so you don’t have to go through the same thing, tho opinions might differ from one person to another, so always look at a couple of reviews before deciding would be my advice.
Lastly, there is also that feeling of helping someone out, for example someone opened up a new business but it’s not really on maps, or anywhere else, adding it while also leaving a review might help out that business. So in this case you’ve helped out not only the owner but all others who find out about the place by just looking or searching through the local area for that particular business.
Now then, what has being a Local Guide helped me with?
Well since I started being a local guide I like going out and discovering new places more, I’ve worked on my writing skills as well and changed from leaving reviews like “This was really awesome” or “This place is horrible” to something more detailed with pros, cons and some proper explanation as to why it was awesome or horrible from my point of view, being more objective about the manner! So I’m really grateful for that and thank you for this opportunity!
