Working in the landscape department has exposed me to how important Recreational Parks are to a communities, especially big cities like Kuala Lumpur.
I am passionate about my job which is why I love sharing recreational Parks spots in my country on Google maps. Going to different parks in my country make me understand every park has different features and advantages. I am lucky to be born and grow up in Malaysia which as more than 10 recreational parks that are open for free for local communities and tourists.
Our department always uses park as our place for gathering and events. In Malaysia we have Hari Landskap Negara or National Landscape Day every year on March. This allows people to develop a sense of community and learn to appreciate nature.
Not just that, a park is perfect for a picnic, a concert, or a farmer’s market, it gives fun the community feels it needs.Parks are place that people go to get healthy and stay fit. Parks make a neighborhood more enjoyable to walk through and provide space for popular sports also outdoor gym and fitness.
Parks also provide great opportunities for parents to bond with children, and for children to make new friends in the neighborhood. A big park is also a great place for a child’s birthday, giving them the opportunity to run around safely.
If you come to Malaysia, no matter what your interests are, believe me that you could go to all the parks from free ones to the expensive ones, from small parks to the huge parks. As always, remember the rules of nature: “Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints”. In other words, don’t pollute the area.
