Google maps is really a wonderful thing happened to world. As we all know, Navigating the physical world is one of the most challenging problems for the billions of people in developed as well as developing countries. Where every day a new landmark is constructed, a new route is planned; with the help of local guides we can contribute making world a better place.I love contributing and I am gratified that I am making world a better place.
I am a very active user of google maps and a proud local guide.
I am from India, and Google maps is work in progress. We have come a long way from where we started , and a long way to go.
The most frequent thing I do on google maps is to correct locations of places. People add location for places, and sometimes due-to GPS inaccuracy or for some other reasons, some locations are bit off the mark. And this causes few extra miles in some cases and some inconvenience to users who rely on google maps. Whenever I notice such inaccuracy, i update the location attached to places so that people get up-to-date result.
I also contribute by adding photos and reviews about the places. I answer questions about places, which help others get what they are looking for.
I really think that Google maps has made our lives a lot easier. People are getting more confident going to unknown places as they can trust on Google maps as their guide navigating them to correct places through shortest path.
