I love photography and I love food. I am keen on sharing as many real and latest pictures of a locality as possible. It is what helps people to make a proper decision.
My journey of being a local guide started from “Add your photos to maps”. I don’t exactly remember seeing this notification the first time or the first time I ever decided to upload a photo but I am so happy with myself that I did so. Being a local guide has brought me closer to everything around me, to me. I started adding more and more photos, began writing reviews for every place I visited. This ride has been an up only ride for me, adding more and more to my experiences. I can’t help but think ‘how can I as a local guide help make this world a better place?’ It’s simple. Is’nt it? We just need to know what a localite feels especially a woman. As a woman, it is important for me to know if a place is safe to be visited alone or how is a particular community’s behavior towards women and I want to add it to my reviews to help others also find out. I am lucky enough to have traveled half of the country on my own and to have the local guide community to share my experiences which are going to make maps better for everyone. Whenever I am stuck, in a new place, lost alone or can’t find my way, Google map is my go-to option and it is so for many others as well. I don’t trust words. I trust pictures. What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce. As of today, I make sure to click photos especially to add to maps and it leads me to explore many hidden places and uncover some fun facts about a place. If your pictures aren’t good enough, you’re not close enough. A thing that you see in my pictures is that I was not afraid to fall in love with these places. It is also helping me improve my skills as a photographer and a local guide as well.
As far as writing a review is concerned, I make sure to mention any specialties of the place. It helps visitors to decide on something if they don’t have anything pre-planned. I am a foodie, so the maximum of the places I review are food joints especially the restaurant where you’ll find the best desserts in town. I believe the being a local guide, sharing the photographs, my experiences have given me another hope and I look forward in the direction to make the world a better place and do my part in it boosting my confidence and skills on the way.
