I love reviewing places of interest as a Local Guide on Google Maps. It not only helps other people to get an up to date feel of a particular place, it also helps me document my visits. It is great that I get updates about how many times my photos and reviews have been seen and I love making an positive impact/influence on people’s lives, as well as for businesses. It amazes me that my photos have been seen for more than 1.3 million times- hopefully they have been of use to others!
Photography is one of my passions. I have a website (www.rainbowlisical.com) and a Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/rainbowlisticalphotography). I think a photograph speaks a thousand words and is a very efficient way of showing people what to expect from a certain place they are looking to visit, be it a place of interest or a restaurant. Actually, a school friend who is an editor in a local magazine asked me to do a review of local East Asian restaurants after she saw me posting about them, and Google Maps helped me to regather photos and previous reviews. I am (hopefully) helping others, but also, being a local guide has helped me too. I always check out on Google Maps where I should visit and eat, other people’s reviews have been more than helpful to me whenever I have been travelling. Other people are my inspirations and have made me love sharing (especially photos) on Google Maps.
