My name is Saurav Verma and I live in the city of Chandigarh. I have worked with the National Standards body of India i.e. BUREAU OF INDIAN STANDARDS. It used to be a travelling job where i had to conduct audits at various factories in the state of Punjab. During this time, my biggest problem used to be to search the factories across different cities and sometimes it used to take hours to locate the factories which were in the outskirts of the cities. This was the time when i became so fond of Google maps as it was of great help and convenience to me to identify and reach the location of the factories. I used to ask the concerned person to send me their current location so that I can reach there and when i used to reach there i used to mark the place on Google maps so that nobody faces the problem that I faced.
Now with Google maps, whenever I travel to a new town which is in the interiors, I mark the reviews and sometimes the locations of the restaurants which are very popular and famous in the local area but people visiting from outside/tourists are not aware of. It is of great help to them to enjoy the delicacies of the local area.
Google maps has been instrumental in making people aware of a new place as a result of which there is no difficulty in adjusting to a new place.
