Sharing my experience on Google maps I focus on utility of information I gave. I don’t like 1 million 1st comment on already well described place, especially if I agree with summary on the place. Contrariwise, I love to give based description about not very popular but deserved attention places. I use comments to find good place to visit and don’t like to spend too much time on reading useless comments. So, I try to correspond in my comments to what I like in others. I consider Google Maps more as a tool than local’s community.
As for the type of places I focus, there is no rules – anything which can be useful for traveller (when I travel) or for citizen (when I’m at home) – anything can be notated.
