One day I was as any other young millennial, scrolling down all my social media apps, bored and dreaming of one day, I could have enough money to travel the world, and you know, learn from cultures… but suddenly, my phone sends me a notification from Google Maps: “Are you in X’s place?”. To be honest, I freaked out cause I wasn’t telling “anyone” where I was a few hours after I get home. So, I touched the notification and learned about Google Maps new Idea of “Local Guides” and by some reason, I got really excited. I decided to go and walk all the business that was nearby my home. I start shooting my favorite bakery, barbershop, gas station, I take lots of pictures of beaches near my city, and I started to enjoy traveling local more than ever. My family used to travel local a lot, not just to learn about our culture and history but also to enjoy some good quality time together. Thanks to Google Maps and their idea, our family plans each summer a tour to new cities here, in Puerto Rico, getting lost a few times, finding awesome new places to have fun and also, we learn each day more to value what we already got, instead of seeking for a Social Media post live.
I love to share lots of cafes and restaurants in Puerto Rico, such as Paletados or Calaff Pastries in Aguada. Also, I like to visit lots of rain forests such as “Gozalandia” in San Sebastián and El Yunque in Luquillo. Hopefully, I will keep track of all my adventures so you all can enjoy too from My Paradise. Thanks!
