What I love sharing most on Google Maps and what people want to be shared

Hello.

I am very passionate about sharing experiences and pictures from places I happen to be. It doesn’t really matter to me whether I left home to go to local grocery store to get milk for morning tea for my hubby or crossed half of the world to see Gaudi’s building through the wind on a raining November morning. Every trip is a potential for dozens of helpful tips and reviews. Posts will equally target masala-tea lovers in North America, future architect geniuses world wide and people who sit in their rooms and for lack of physical or financial abilities see places online and imagine themselves there. Beautiful, isn’t it? That is what I like to share. Reality check: no matter what I like to share- there are things people want and need to check. Please check the picture I shared: it is a screenshot from “my contributions”. 2 pictures I took with difference of 5 minutes: hotel room and view from the hotel room on an amazing sunset, that half a second when horizon is clean and sun visually gets an oval shape. I posted pictures almost simultaneously about a year ago. Sunshine under visual effect gained 48 views and hotel room got 48 thousand hits. This is reality: you want to see beautiful sceneries - you watch National Geographic’s. This site is about being useful. Because whether you want it or not pictures of hotel rooms, food plates and time tables will get times and times more views. My aim is to find that fine balance of being helpful and being interesting with actually posting breathtaking picture of life around us that very few people might show interest in. But at the end - I am the one who needs to be happy with my posts, reviews, pictures. Its passion, its non-for-profit purely volunteering activities, that we- contributors should really enjoy. Isn’t it what is the point?..
