I love to share information on food establishments and business places. I have Aboulomania**,** a medical condition that makes one pathologically indecisive and could bring on stress, anxiety and depression. Things as simple as deciding on where to have lunch would send me off the mill and could disrupt my mood for the rest of the day if it turned out bad. I would obsess greatly on making decisions on places to shop from or eat at even with reviews on the net L! Reading other people’s opinions about places really helps me to relief the mental pressure of deciding on places to visit and I just feel it is only fair for me to return the favor to others that may have troubles with making decisions like I do. Reading others reviews about a place makes it feel more familiar and comforting for me when I visit.
My culture is deeply ingrained in food and I love food so sharing information about food is a way of expression for me. I also travel quite a lot and love to explore eating establishments so it’s only natural for me to want to express my thoughts on the food. Writing reviews on food has become a bonding time for my family now because my kids get all excited to talk about their opinions on the food and the food settings and writing of the reviews. We all order different foods, take pictures, share opinions and write the reviews together as a family. It’s simply fun and exciting to see my kids’ expressions while putting their thoughts together for reviews.
Writing reviews encourage businesses to either keep doing what they do well or improve on their services which in turn helps to improve sales. There are some hidden gems that are not doing so well because they do not have a lot of reviews and there is no awareness. I love to write reviews about such places too to create more awareness for them and keep them in business.
Another reason I love to write reviews is to help save people’s money. Writing an honest review about a bad establishment will save the next person from wasting their money there and also help notify the establishment on what to improve on. I sometimes revisit places where I had bad experiences to see if they improved and I would update my review with whatever changes I noted.
