here is my first post on the localguidesconnect about what i love sharing the most on google maps.
Becoming a local guide was just a coincidence for me. I had never thought of getting so much involved with Google maps and enjoying contributing to the local community. But yes it was one of the best things happened to me.
There is nothing too specific for what i like sharing on the map the most but i believe each and every type of contribution holds a great value and importance.
I had started just by adding few pictures on the maps and i got a mail from google that my pics got above thousand views and then i never looked behind.
Every type of contribution in the google maps in one of a kind and what i love sharing the most is the pictures. as pictures are a way to know the places really better. I had mostly contributed by adding pictures of the places in the community and the places that hold a great historical importance. So many people have emotional attachment with these places and these pictures provide a sense of happiness to them.
I also love to add new places that are mostly the small businesses so that they can also make their presence felt to the community. Adding the small businesses to the maps creates a better platform for the businesses and also for the people that can easily find a place to buy something they require.
The maps get a lot better when it holds information of even a small street. This ensures that everyone is benefited from the maps. One thing more that i love about maps and would like to contribute to is the places accessible to the specially-able people. Google has put a great emphasis on the wheelchair accessible places to help such people and i love to contribute to it if possible.
Whenever i get a chance to travel i do check on the maps to contribute as little as i can to the maps so that people can know better about that place.
Maybe its a restaurant, a hotel , a religious place or anything i always try to add pictures, reviews, answer the questions to help the people and it satisfies me a lot.
At last but not the least my contribution is very little but still if i had helped even one person with my whole contribution to the maps i will feel i am really successful as a local guide and i am really thankful to google for this wonderful opportunity.
