I love posting pictures on Google maps and being the first to submit a photo of a place give me a thrill. I enjoy seeing the new views of my photos every day. I must confess that the whole Google Map thing is a little addictive. I am from a tiny Island in the Caribbean Called Antigua as part of a Twin Island Nation. Getting new badges and leveling up is almost like playing an 80s Video Game. I started casually like most everyone else but after a full year of constant posting reviews and even taking some of my pictures from my archives and from Facebook (my personal pictures mind you), I still had to post some newly taken pictures. That led me to adding new places to the map since it allowed me to add more pictures.
The Badges also encouraged me to add reviews and do edits as well since I was determined to becoming a Master in all badges ( which I have achieved ), that new badge is my new aim. The points and levels all encouraged me to contribute more. I had a unique opportunity of being from a Country with sparse information in many areas ( well at least before I started). I was determined to adding all Churches to Google Maps, then Beaches, Hotels, Places of interest and many other self assigned projects.
My future project is to visit other nearby Countries to do the same and also to do 360 Google Street View photos. My writing skills have improved somewhat from all those reviews and the after adding more than 20.000 photos my photo skills also improved. The whole Google ecosystem with my photos appearing in search results and other places online gives me a feeling of accomplishment and I will continue to contribute even in a greater way.
