What I most enjoy about being a Google Maps local guide is being able to add information about small business and updating information or answering questions about places I have been. I believe it is important to always have the latest information and Google is the best place to get it. Having at my disposal the phone number, hours of operations, or website for a particular place is priceless. The more accurate the information is; the better, that’s why I enjoy being a local guide and why I encourage everyone to write their own reviews, and contribute as much as they can. It improves everyone’s experience.

I would like to firstly thank you for making Maps better for everyone and secondly, for sharing the reasons why you enjoy being part of the Local Guides program. Quite a lot of people here on Connect are also passionate about helping others find great local places or simply supports small businesses. If you are interested in meeting some of them, you can easily do so in this thread.
By the way, have you heard about this year’s Connect Live? It’s a basically an event where attendees will learn the latest news about Google products, meet Googlers and fellow Local Guides, and discover inspiring ways to become even better contributors. You can expect learning, friendship, and celebration. However, each year’s specific format and events are kept secret so that you’ll be surprised when you get there! Sounds exciting right? So, if you want to participate, feel free to submit your application until the 30th of April 2019. To learn more about the event itself and how you can register, please check this announcement. In there you’ll find a lot of useful information, as well as helpful articles that will help you out with your application, like for example this one right here called - How to write a great post for Connect Live 2019?.
