This is about couple of years back I noticed that when I visit any places like Hotel, Restaurants, malls, museums, etc. I receive a notification asking me for giving my reviews about those places. Initially I ignored but then more time notifications popped up, I decided to write my feedback about that place and give the ratings. After surfing more on google I came to know that so many people have shared their experiences and how it has helped others who visited the specific place.
This inspired me to review the places I have visited and provide my ratings. One day I saw my reviews had 1000+ views, this gained me a sense of joy and happiness, which in-turn I believed that people are getting benefited from my experience. Even I go through the reviews before exploring any new place as it will help me to know how exactly the place is and suitability for my liking.
This leads me to give more and more feedback about the sight I explored and how my visit will help others. The most positive thing about this system of Google Local guide and Maps is Awareness, Contributions, Reliability and Understanding. This is explained below
Awareness – By giving the reviews for any places, will help the people who want to explore new places any time. For example, Once I had visited a Hotel named Rahi Plaza in Mahabaleshwar (Hill Station in Maharashtra, India) and I wrote my first-hand experience in positive and negative categories. This review made awareness to the people who might be willing to stay in that Hotel. This feedback can make someone’s short trip memorable by having correct choice with the help of the reviews in Google.
Contributions – Google local guide is also available for the business. By writing reviews for any business, the owners can come to know about positive and negative prospects of their business and they can improve accordingly. These reviews contribute not only to the visitors but also to the owners to improve and focus on their forte.
Reliability – Being a local guide and sharing my experience consistently, users can rely on the feedback and use them for their benefits, interest, etc. and get most of the places they are visiting.
Understanding – Google local guide also has the option to share the pictures. Always pictures say 1000 words about a place. So, a picture along with reviews help people understand more about a particular place. Many businesses upload a visually attractive pictures to lure customers, but my pictorial feedback has truly helped the visitor to understand clearly.
So being a google local guide has brought me joy and it has made me happy & proud by contributing valuable inputs to the people and the society.
