Alright, so I was going to write this post on Sunday, but kept getting distracted, so here we are… I blame it on work… or stuff.
I was craving Japanese curry real bad on Sunday. Why? I have no idea… I just did. Knowing that there aren’t any places close by that serves Japanese curry, I figure I’ll try my luck and look around Google Maps a bit. See if I find anything new. I searched for ‘Japanese curry nearby’ and started browsing down the list.
I came across this place called Diner Japonica and… wait, what is this place? The name sounds interesting. A quick glance on the reviews shows a lot of people satisfied with the place, so I decided to give it a shot. It’s not exactly close, as I have to cross the bridge and pay the $5 toll fee. But my craving for Japanese curry was too big, so I went anyway. As I was driving I realized… this was the first time this year I actually drove pass the bridge. Huh. This is what Covid can do to you. I need to get out more…
Anyway I went, parked my car, and made the order. Like most restaurants in the SF Bay Area, they still don’t do dine ins, and only take takeaway order. It only took ten minutes or so before I got my food and went back home.
The verdict? The curry sauce is delicious, and I’d go as far to say it’s comparable to the curry I’ve had in Japan. The pork katsu? Not so much. It was still an enjoyable meal and definitely satisfied my craving though, so I definitely didn’t regret my trip.
Anyhow, what food are you craving / have been craving lately? How much are you willing to go to get it?
Well, I’ve been craving for salmon sashimi lately, but due to Covid-19, I’m not sure if it’s safe to eat raw food. I will patiently wait until this pandemic ends to eat raw food again
Ada dong ,makanan di warung tenda depan pabrik saat pulang magrib habis lembur , namanya bandros rasanya manis ada gurih kelapa parut juga dan téh tawar hangat . Memang ya kalau makan harus keadaan lapar jadi rasanya pasti enak . Warung ini bukanya abis ashar jam 4 atau jam 5 sore kalau tidak lembur ya belum buka .
Teh @Lusianaa pancong atau bandros mirip mirip , nah di atas itu gambar pancong , ukuran lebih kecil dan warnanya lebih putih ,lebih murah pancong juga sih karena ukuran .
Nih aku tadi pagi beli pancong sepotong seharga seribuan deh .
Wah harganya murah banget ya disana, mbak @Nyainurjanah Kalau di Jakarta, sepotong kue pancong dihargai 7000-10000 Rupiah
Oh iya, ada satu lagi kue yang serupa, namanya kue rangi. Kue ini disajikan dengan siraman gula merah. Aku suka beli juga, tapi nggak punya fotonya. Apakah kamu tahu?
Since the cold season is coming, I’ve been craving the real Indonesian bakso (see photo ?). Sadly, gojek can’t deliver it to me. But few days ago I made a beef soup that relieve a little bit of my bakso craving.
