Local Guides program is a chnace to share my article, like RADICAL WARMING IN SIBERIA
According to scientists, by 2080, due to rising temperatures, the climate in Siberia will become suitable for human life and agriculture even in the Arctic zone of the region, according to an article published in the journal Environmental Research Letters.
But the consequence can already be seen throughout Siberia, the temperature has already risen by 9 degrees Celsius, the locals are simply not used to see snow melting at this speed at this time of the year, I don’t know what scientists say, but I see from my own experience that balance has broken, it just feels like everything is out of place, that shouldn’t be, but it seems nobody is interested.
We know that, the main culprit is carbon dioxide, CO2 and many things can be done,I think that the governments of all countries on the planet can still suspend the process of global climate change, although the process has already begun long ago.
@Zorba I have never been to Siberia, but I can believe your words. The similar unusual situation I could observe during this winter in Belarus. It was the first year when the winter didn’t come in Belarus at all. You can read my post: #arosefortheplanet, Snowdrops in the Beginning of February, Minsk.
There are a campaign initiated by @ErmesT here, you can read about it: A Rose for the Planet - a new Local Guides campaign , I think your post is also suitable for this campaign, so you can freely add “#arosefortheplanet” mark, you can also search for the other posts on this theme with the help of it.
Thanks for sharing your post. I agree that global warming is a serious matter and you can definitely see its effects on our land. We used to have great winters in Finland, but this year we hardly had any snow. It’s getting pretty serious and sad with some animals like polar bears not having enough ice and cold there. People need to take some actions towards this as well.
Nevertheless, your photos are lovely. I’ve also never been to Siberia.
