To me, the local guides program means being able to help others find nice spots to eat and cool parks and museums to check out. I’ve lived in a couple different places in England so it’s nice to be able to help people find places to go to that they maybe wouldn’t have otherwise, whether that’s because it’s the kind of place only a local would know to go to, or because they’re pretty new to the area.
I also travel a lot during the summer months. I’ve backpacked all over Europe and India by myself so having the network of local guides has really helped me know where I can check out. I also visited Thailand for a month but not by myself. It was really nice to be able to see which restaurants I could recommend my friends to go to and which ones we should maybe avoid.
