The Local Guides program has filled a big gap in my life since it has introduced to me. To me Local Guide means trusted representative, who transfers her/his experience with integrity and honesty in order to help people to make a better decision based on their needs and convenient.
In real world, I am a type of person that I like to use other’s experience before making most of my decisions. Using other’s knowledge usually helps me to make a better decision without any regret and helps me to save time and money.
Since I immigrated to the US, I have lost my community, in a way everything was new to me from finding a Grocery store to a good dentist. At that time my husband was a Google Guide, he introduces this program to me. I started using Google maps to replace what I had lost, gradually became a Google Guide. Since then Google maps has been my best friend. Being a Google Guide encouraged me to start taking photos and develop my new hobby. I have been inspired with Google map and have started to take photos. I have a plan to buy a 360 camera to contribute more professionally. Eventually I started to dedicate some of my time as I realized I need to contribute more to add value to this app in order to pay back my share.
Google is producing big data and I believe a Local Guide has a mission to deliver true and pure data. To me, being a Local Guide means delivering reliable data and helps the community to find and meet their needs. To me the value of this program will stay alive until people can be sure about trustworthy of the Local Guides and us as Local Guides have an important rule.
