Hello everyone!
My name is Deni. I’m a local guide from Italy. I love traveling and exploring the world around me. It is one of my passions. I retired a year ago and my life changed for the better. Now I have a lot of time at my disposal. My friends often ask me: what are you doing now that you no longer work? I do what I like to do—things that I am passionate about, something that makes sense to me.
Traveling and discovering places is something that makes me feel alive.
Nurturing and cultivating this natural tendency to help others is something that makes me feel good and gratified. Initially I started by writing reviews of the places I saw and sharing them with my usual friends. Then I found out that I could be a local guide for many others and so I got passionate about it, and joined the program because I also wanted to share my photos, I had a lot of photos from my travels and for me it was amazing to find my own photos on the map, and show them.
I am motivated by the number of views I have monthly. In February I had 107,348 views. It is amazing. At the beginning, I was shocked about the number of people that had seen my photos, my reviews and then I thought, “I have helped several thousand people to see how a place is!” It is impossible these numbers do not impact the perception of the program. The program operates on team work and it has a great diffusion capacity.
I would like to get better in sharing my experiences with others. I enjoy offering my contributions, and helping small business owners by adding their locations to the map. It is exciting I had been the first to discover one of them. Through these many small actions, I’m able to help the customers to find what they’re looking for.
What does the local guide program mean to me is that it makes me feel useful in the true sense of the word. I love writing and transmitted all my passionate feelings about the places I visit.
I would like to participate in Connect Live 2020 to improve my knowledge of the different technological features of google and meeting other local guides. I think that meeting could give me a lot skills, I feel there is still a lot that can be done together in the worldwide community.
