Hi team!
I’m Arabia and I’m 24. Currently, I work as a marketing assistant and a content creator in Barcelona. For a while one of my passions was taking pictures from my
trips (well, also some crazy photo shoots of my friends hahaha). Mainly because my father is a photography fanatic, and between us it has become a close competition to improve our skills and to partake in this hobby together.
I discovered Local Guides in 2017, sharing pictures from my drive without knowing what I was really doing. Then, I started to see the pop-up notifications from Google Maps telling me that my pictures have been viewed by more or less 50,000 people. Then I realized how big the world really was, and how much could I help to let people know what they can really see just from their screen by taking one picture. Nowadays, those pop-up messages tell me that there are over 770,000 pairs of eyes looking at my pictures.
I’m a creator, and I feel that in this community all of us are here to let our content travel across the world and see what people like the most.Do they want to see the food? Maybe the beach from the city? Museum exhibitions? That’s the challenge.
The local guides program is showing me how to see the world from a different perspective, and also what it looks like for those unknown people that are searching info from different places. It is also giving me confidence about the kind of picture I take.
So, there’re a thousand reasons and anecdotes I could explain here, but I think that it would be funnier if I could explain all of them at the Summit
