What does the Local Guides program mean to you?

The Local Guides Program means the world to me. It has taught me a lot of things and successfully lead me to places and locations that I would have otherwise gotten lost had it not been for the Local Guide assistance. The experience I had with Local Guide which assisted me to travel from Ndola on the copperbelt province of Zambia through the pedical road of DR Congo to Mansa then Kasama on the Northern part of Zambia in 2017 really opened by way of travel and inspired me to also effectively contribute to development of the Local Guide in Zambia. As such from 2017 to date i have tried where possible to effectively update location that I feel are not well represented or not clear on the map. For example my trip to Nsobe camp had the actual route being different from what was showing on Google Map hence as a dedicated Local Guide I took it upon muself to correct the directions so that travelers and tourist do not have a hard time finding the place.

In addition, with the increase in crime and theft, it is becoming more difficult to trust directions physically given by a third person, thus the Local Guide has also made traveling saver for everyone as one can reach the exact destination without having to physically stop and frequently ask for directions for people.
