Mark Twain once said, “The public is the only critic whose opinion is worth anything at all.” In a day and age where people are quick to point out the quirks and flaws of a business, rarely do people ever take the time to say, ‘Thank You,’ or, ‘I appreciate your employees.’ As a local guide, I think it is just as important to point out the employees who go above and beyond than it is the ones that fall short of meeting one’s expectations. I think feedback is critical - good, bad, or indifferent. How are people to improve if they don’t know they need to? That employee that went out of their way to say hello to you why not let their employer know that they have someone special on staff? Who knows what that positive feedback will not only do for that employee, but also for that small business. People would rather turn to reviews of ordinary customers, rather than a commercial, ad, or someone on tv. That google review that they read makes it more real for them.
