What does the Local Guides program mean to you? : My life was saved haha - one of my experience

Hi all, I am Fauziah from Indonesia, a country with beautiful natures and of course, people too.

I wanna share one of my experience to you.

I’m dreaming about go to college like my friends did, but my parents have no money for that. My dad just a worker, and I have 2 sisters and 5 brothers, so it’s impossible for me. To reach my dream, i decided to work to earn money.

Saving money is almost impossible for me, because i have to help my parents to pay my sister’s school. And thanks god, i finally have enough money for enter college. I’m waiting for this, and did it in 2 years. Alhamdulillah!

But, life is not easy. I don’t know being an employee and student at the same time can be this hard. It spends your money and time. Sometimes when I look into my wallet, there’s only air left. I laugh at myselft loudly. What a life!

You know, here, internet is expensive and the signal is not good enough. When it’s raining, it becomes bad, when lightning comes, no signal at all.

One day, I have a assignment to submit. It’s raining all day, and of course the signal is bad. I decide to go to my friend’s house, wondering the better signal there. When I open my google maps to drive to my firend’s house, I see menu floating there. The word kopi (coffee in english) get me, my fingers suddenly click it. I love coffee so much by the way.

There’s lots of list coffee shop. I click the nearest, and I see someone written as local guide wrote about how good their coffee, how comfortable that place, the price is cheap, and the most important is, free wifi!

Finally, I cancel about go to my friend’s house. I get better place with free wifi hahaha.

So, I ended did my assignment in that coffee shop, enjoyed cheap coffee, and i think he is right, the coffee is good. And, I got free wifi. hahahahaha

I wanna thanks to him, because of you I can find a place like that. I can save my money for buy internet packages, now I can smile a little when see my wallet.

I don’t know the little things he did can save others, maybe I can help others too with like him.

Thanks for all local guides arround the world to spend your time to share!

Love
