What does the Local Guides program mean to you?

I nurtured this community as my own child at the National Capital of India (NEW DELHI). This is the story of that point of time when this program was just started a years ago In India and hardly has any exposure in public. I still remember the day how I posted a meetup on connect and I went meeting with Prof Arun and I taught him how to make Streetview via mobile and we created a Local Guide India Whatsgroup and as on date it became a huge family of 500 strong committed members across India.
I still remember the day when Google invites the leading LGs from Delhi at the Hotel Le Meridian to get opinion and I got a chance to interact with those Googlers who work on the map and they noted down our views and how I got an opportunity just after that meetup to get shot for an Internal Google LG Video Campaign and my enthusiasm can be seen in this picture…
And I realised how indulge and amazed were the two Google videographers by the vicinity of the area of my residence and they kept on going shooting extra shorts.
.Over the time several people came and joined and I had passed the baton to the responsible hand of “Mr. Ambrish” to let this community flourish. As in my personal and professional life, I was having Tsunami or say tough time where sometimes I struggled to get bread and butter but I didn’t leave contributing on the map, although there is a decrease in the consistency and frequency but I kept in touch and whenever possible, get involved with Google Delhi either by getting involved in their survey or feedback campaign.
It took me a couple of years to bring back my life on track again and in the meantime, I came to know about other Google products such as Google crowdsource and neighbourly too and get involved myself and as it is said after every dark night there will be a sunny day and same happened in my life and I got a scholarship in my desired field of interest i.e Travel and Tourism to pursue my Master Degree from Budapest Business School, Budapest, Hungary in Europe.
It took me some time to adjust in a new country and a new environment and in the meantime again a get an opportunity from Google to build a community in Hungary via my friend and well known LG from Delhi Mr.Ambrish Varshney and after couple months of struggle to get permission and other formalities in the past month of Feb 2020, I started the community at a small level through my university. It is the beginning of a journey and I plan to extend the same with LG community as Hungary level. Here is a Glimpse
In the end, I would like to conclude: Google Local Guide is like my family. As in Family, sometimes you fight, you get disappointed, you argue, you get dishearten (like in my case: I applied much time to connect live in past and my Internal Video never published) but at the end, you never leave you, family.
