A new stage in service development in Ukraine or how I make my country better with the Local Guides
My name is Oleh, I am a regional manager in one of the large logistics companies. Every day I come across the field of service - as a company representative at work, and as a client outside it. That’s why I am actively involved in Local Guides program, because it helps to make my country better.
Currently, Ukraine is undergoing a lot of changes. The service market is growing every year. There are a few large foreign companies appears in the country. The offer on the service market is becoming quite big. Therefore, not a beautiful sign or advertisement on TV comes to the fore, but the comments of people, real reviews about the visit. Recently, more and more various institutions, interesting places or attractions have become more popular precisely with the help of a high rating in Google.
It seems to me that in this way the Local Guides program is changing the Ukrainian services market. Changes it for the better, because everyone can leave their opinion in comments, tell their experience of visiting some places and even tell business owners what they need to pay attention to.
In my work, I also often use Google ratings. It shows how people see units that are subordinate to me. I can see what needs to be paid attention first of all, what causes discomfort for clients or what / with whom they are most satisfied.
I live in the town of Poltava, but often travel to other cities for work. With the help of Google services I can easily find the right hotel, choose the most optimal route and plan my leisure.
In most cases I travel by car, so Google Maps is my main helper in the car. And how many times Google Maps helped me out during traffic jams in Kiev, showing me the fastest way to move! Probably a million times . 
Also Local Guides are an important part of my vacation. I love to travel, so I often use Google Maps abroad to find attractions and interesting places. By the way, offline maps helped us out several times where there was no opportunity to connect to the Internet. So we safely discover new cities for ourselves, walking along tourist and not very streets.
And finally, I will give an example how I improve my country with the Local Guides. In one of the reviews about the supermarket, I indicated that automatic entrance doors are needed, because it is not easy with a pram. This is very important for my wife and my little son. A few months later, automatic doors appeared in the supermarket and now Anna and Makar can shop without any problems.
I am happy to be part of something global and useful. I am sure that Local Guides have a future in Ukraine. And most important, that everyone can make our country a little better.
