I am a level 8 Local Guide. It is my habit to read reviews and see photos of a place where I am planning to go.It happened many times with me in my city that I could not find proper information about places I was planning to go. I had to visit those places with little knowledge. Sometimes it would be a success and sometimes flop. That is when I realized what ir means to be a local guide and I can actually help people in knowing about places they are searching for. Being Local Guide is very important to me in terms of helping people. If by sharing my experiences and information I can help someone save their time, money and effort what else do I want. It is very easy to do. I travel a lot and I explore eateries and places everywhere I go. It hurts me when there is no proper information available about places despite the fact that now we are technologically so advanced. I wanted to change that.
Second thing that I realized after sometime in to Local Guide program, I can change perception of people about my country. There are so many false things available on internet about my country but I know that there is a sunny side ? but very few to write or tell about it ? My reviews and information can help others know my country , my city. I can change the way people think about Pakistan and our people.
That is why I see Local Guide program as a means to change ! change views and perceptions of people about other people and places but only by providing correct information.
