Hi guys, my name is Fabio Gomes. I am a marketing consultant, teacher and also a local guide level 7 in Belo Horizonte , Minas Gerais, Brazil.
I’ve been actively contributing to Google Maps since the program started a few years ago, using the maps to guide myself and when I’m touristing or working in a different city or country. Maps changed my way to visit places.
Nowadays I know that being a local guide means much more than evaluating places. It is participating in other people’s lives and journeys. is to help a company, a cafeteria, a tourist place to grow and be seen by the world.
Being a local guide means generating growth and helping to evolve. It is creating a historical trail and participating in people’s history.
I can’t imagine the world where people don’t share more information. Information is public, but it needs a method to be distributed. Using google tools, like google maps, makes this much easier for new local experiences.
Participating in a project like this is like thanking everyone who has ever helped me on the street when I asked for information. But not everyone has the courage to talk to strangers on the street, so I was able to help people, even without knowing them, it is something that makes me feel good.
I intend to continue helping people, whenever possible both personally and digitally
I will also continue to hope and act to make the world more accessible and beautiful for everyone.
A big hug to all of you!
With love,
Fábio G.
