I started contributing on Google Map since 2016 and did not aware of the Local Guide at the time. I just did what I can to help others. Today, my photos have reach more than 1,400,000 views! I feel very satisfied and clever being a Local Guide because no doubt my pictures, review & edit made life easier for others. Google Map users could have saved time, motivated about their search, avoided frustrations, arguments and did not miss certain opportunities because they have accurate and useful information from me… Business owners also had more exposure and business from my contribution. As a map user, I also benefited from other Local Guides and I want to thank you all.
Above is one of the photos of a soccer field in Shellharbour, NSW, Australia. During a winter day back in June 2017, I arrived at this field very panicking because I could not find the field according to the map. I worried as the game about to start and my son’s team needed him. Later I managed to find the field and realized someone put the pin at the wrong location and in opposite direction! Later that day I moved the pin and give parents and players better directions. Accurate information and good directions are important and this can enhance people’s lives.
Being a Local Guide is exciting and can be very addictive!
My two young sons discovered this Prawn Fishing place through Google Map before we went to Vietnam in 2017. Alleluia! Such a fun place. Both Francis & An know that I am a Google Guide and requested that I must give this place a good review and I did. Not because of my sons request but this place is unique and full of fun! It is a restaurant with such cool entertainment. You pay to play then you pay for what you catch and they cook lunch for you!
I love being a Google Local Guide. It gives me a sense of giving back, knowing my local businesses & attractions and at global level, it gives me a sense of connection and making difference to tourists and more!
