I have always been a foodie, I used to love to explore all the new places and taste the food there. When I heard about being a local guide from some of friend in the other city, I thought why not I should also be one and contribute to the society. I can share my good as well as bad experience with people here and prevent them from having the same.
The local guides to me became a way to share my experience about the place, like how is the ambiance, which are the most delicious food items there and how many people it can accommodate and much more. I felt more connected to people. Whenever I post the honest opinions, there is always excitement in me to see how many views it get and how much it is helping people to make better decisions, and the google maps is always boosting the confidence in us by sending encouraging emails and updates.
I come from a place called Raipur in Chhattisgarh, India. It is not a metropolitan city and thus there weren’t many local guides here previously and lot of information was missing or had no reviews. As a local guide I was able to change this situation and get the strength to improve the information about my city on the maps.
Being a Local Guide has filled me with zeal to discover new places and share it with the community.
Initially starting with just the restaurants and cafe, I also started contributing about street food, schools, colleges, hospitals, places to live, shopping options, railway station and libraries also.
I would definitely say I have improved my photography skills and reviews writing skills since I started and the credit for this goes the to this very local guides community, which always inspiring people to be better each day.
It gives me a sense of great power to be able to make some difference in the society.
At the end to me local guide is all about the contributing to my community and sharing honest reviews.
I hope to connect with more local guides through the connect live program.
