I’m Alberto Martinez a level 6 local guide from Monterrey, México.
I started contributing on Google maps in 2017.I remembered my first reviewed was a restaruant here in Monterrey, in that time I was unaware about local guides, but one friend told me that when you review some places and suggest edits about places, Google could make you as local guide, so I decided to start and share my comments in different places like restaurants, comercial groceries, cinemas, so on, and in the final of 2017 I started contributing on Google maps
After some time, I got a notification from Google, “you know this place?”, at first was weird receive this question but anyway I added related photos to the place. I added those photos and earned some points. After some days I recieved a mail from Google. telling me that my photos are being popular. It was so amazing that I got mail from Google like this,I felt very happy and lucky, so I decided to continue sharing stories, always thinking that some of my contributions could help other people with their visits, and in this way enjoying the place.
Now whenever I visit, for example a restaurant, park, or when I travel for business or pleasure, I try to share in local guide page how was the food, the hotel, drinks or the place in general. In the last months I have answered questions from other travelers and I am very happy to help them and also learn from them.
I’m still enjoying contributing on Google maps and Met with new people, guiding, contributing, helping people.
