It’s been so many years since i started out as a local guide on google maps. Currently a level 8 on local guide, I still remember vividly when google map had the reviews functions and i was actively writing reviews of my travel destination and local places of interests that was before the local guide came out in 2015. The local guide community have been an amazing group of people that shares knowledge, information and discover amazing things together as a whole. Sharing the one thing we have in common which is to let billions of people in the world to access to informations.
The local guide program have been one of the best thing created to be able to connect to many other local guides out there, improving information and writing creative reviews to billions of people.
I have written many reviews on google of places of travels, places of interests, places of food recommendation. Writing reviews have been one of the most pleasurable thing to do as i love to share my knowledge and experience i had. It allows me to be able to connect to people who read my review, whenever someone ask “Hey is this restaurant great”, it comes down to individual perspective of what is a great restaurant. But by being unbiased and honest in writing a review, people will read it with a pinch of salt. Still you shared your review about a place and it is one of the best thing to do. To share.
I love taking photos as well, google map allows me to upload amazing photos of places or places that does not have an accurate picture. I would always take a photo of restaurant menus, store fronts, interior and such to allow people to be able to view the place before making a decision to head down. Sometimes food presentation, atmosphere plays a big part and google reviews allows for photography to be uploaded is one of the best thing that has happen.
One of my favourite thing to do is to find coin machine and when i visit a country i normally would find coin machine. I have written my quest to find coin machine in taiwan and would love to continue to do this in future.
