What does the Local Guides Program mean to me?

HI everyone, I am a level six guide and have been contributing on local guides primarily in eastern Wyoming for about three years now. I just wanted to take a minute and describe what the program means to me. When I started contributing to the program I really didn’t understand what I was doing. I would occasionally rate a really good experience or a really bad experience. I soon started to get suggestions of places to rate which led to the contribute option in google maps. This is where I really went down the rabbit hole. I started to realize I could have an actual impact not just on my community but on travelers who would pass through Wyoming. I started to make it my mission to work on the “Check the facts” and “Uncover missing info” portions of the program. I would always answer the questions when prompted about businesses I would frequent and I enjoy taking pictures of locations to ensure that a traveler that was looking for a business had a good picture to work from. I want anyone who comes through Laramie or Cheyenne Wyoming who “googles it” to know that they are getting accurate information. I hope to be able to continue to contribute to the success of the local guides program for many years to come.
