The reason why I am very pleased to be part of Google Local Guides around the world…
I remember, more than 30 years ago, I was working as a Spanish teacher and living in France, in Dunkirk and Paris. I enjoyed traveling to different places in France, like Dijon, Besançon, Bretagne, Mont d’Or, Lyon, Provence and so on. At that time, Google didn’t exist, it was created later.

Acting as a photography lover, I was very happy taking photos of all these places, but it was later, in 2010, when I did the “Camino de Santiago” that I started taking photos of every trip and having fun of that, I also enjoyed speaking with people we met of diverse nationalities.
With my family (wife and two daughters) or alone, I’ve done a lot of trips recently, traveling in several countries of Europe, for instance, Greece, Italy, France, Portugal, Germany, and so on.

It was very interesting to help people by adding photos and comments on Google Maps as a Local Guide. Either for finding some information for myself on those trips or to post some recommendations, each trip feels more natural, more special and less touristic. Being part of Local Guides, provides me a sense of having friends anywhere in the world, giving me advice and helping me to organize my travels and finding new places. When it comes to my mind of years ago when this platform did not exist I find myself amazed by how far we can arrive with the help of one another.
It’s a great pleasure for me to send photos and comments on nice places like charming restaurants, museums and other sites. And it’s a party for me to verify how the number of views of my photos is increasing every month. Here you can find a list of several charming places I visited in Spain, from all of them I have uploaded some content in Connect.

For the moment, I am excited for what is to come! I have a project of traveling by car to Sweden, to visit the country and, of course, greet my niece there and her family.
I would be very euphoric if I am selected for the event in California 2020 because I should be able to learn tips from other LG, Googlers or Moderators and to enjoy or exchange experiences with them.
