What does the Local Guides program mean to me?
It’s an honor to be a 7 grade Local Guide. To me,the Local Guides program means a joy of life and a sense of accomplishment、mutual aid platform and supportive function.
Joy of life and a sense of accomplishment
Everytime I visit the restaurants I‘d never been,I habitually took some photos before eating, and I’d write down the comments and upload photos immediately after eating. Most of my friends and families even think that I’m really weird. They can’t understand why I must take photos of each plate. They don’t understand that I really like to share every delicious food and featured restaurant to everyone involved in the Local Guides program. To me,it’s not just sharing, but a joy of life and a sense of accomplishment. Now I can say proudly to them,”Google sent me a letter to invite me to the Google headquarter”.That’s sounds a really cool and special experience to everyone.
Mutual aid platform
I like to try some new restaurants to taste different cuisine and experience the special phenomenon. So I often find featured places and related information by searching on the Google Maps.Local guides provide lots of photos and informations selfless. In order to giving back their effort,I provide my own real experiences, useful and reliable informations and sincerely comments as possible as I can.People all around the world can share anything through the Local Guides program to make the world better.According to above statements,Local Guides program is a mutual aid platform to me.
Supportive function
Supportive is the most meaningful feature of the Local Guides program I think. Featured, newly open and less-fund stores or restaurants can increase exposure by managing their storepage on the Google Maps.Unlike those chain companies have sufficient funds to buy advertisements,TV shows or coverages to incease popularity. However,as an enthusiastic local guide,I prefer upload more photos and positive comments on the newly stores than those chain stores. In other words, the Local Guides program not only provides a relatively fair platform but has the potential functions of supporting entrepreneurs and stabling the society.
