What does the Local Guides program mean to me?

It means a way of sharing my experience, perception and taste of the world, with the world.

“No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.”

But there’s something really special about photography… The possibility of freezing a moment in time, forever.
We can never see through someone else’s eyes, but with photography we can imagine a lot better…
It’s like a portal to the realm of our memories

It’s a gateway to a story unfinished.
To me photography is some sort of magic, I can lose myself looking at photos, mine or from someone else, trying to grasp that moment, that perspective, what took that person to get to that situation…

So what does localguides has to do with this? The fact that anyone can participate on this, its marvelous to me. More photos of the world, its wonders and its beauty in one place, helping you decide where to go or where to not go, and people sharing stories, all in one place… just seems like science fiction to me, and I love it.

Hi @Camax ,since there’s still time for the application, I really suggest you to read carefully at this Guideline again of how to make a good application post, which the post must be 300 words minimum and it should be under “Local Stories” topic, not Photography. Wish you luck!

Hi @Camax ,

It seems that you’ve shared a post for your Connect Live 2020 application. Keep in mind, one of the requirements is to share your post on Local Stories, so I’ve moved your post there, thanks.

Feel free to have a look at the application guidelines and find some handy tips for creating an application post.
