The Local Guides program has allowed me to not only share but discover new places. With the vast array of restaurants, it can be difficult choose which one to go to next. Which is why this program is so important to me, because it’s two-fold:
- I get to share my thoughts and opinions on places that I’ve tried or been to, either being positive or a negative review
- I get to read other people’s experience there, and that for sure has an impact on whether I decide to go.
Also, being a local Guide and my Instagram kind of go hand in hand - trying out new restaurants, taking pictures and writing a review sort have become second nature. I’ve also been featured on a few restaurants Instagram as a result of this. I have been invited to join a “foodie” influencer platform, which allows me to reach a larger audience.
What does the Local Guides Program mean to me? I’m now the “Go To” person among my friends and family when someone wants a recommendation for food or some place new to try. My top “nine of 2019” are a majority pictures of food or restaurants that I’ve been to – which I have also written reviews on. I have become part of a foodie community and I get to share that wealth with people.
